Vounteer of the Month
Congratulations to Jeremy Smith
Since Jeremy Smith had a similar upbringing as the children at Angelheart, he has a perspective that many volunteers do not. His understanding of our kids' special situation made working with Angelheart "a natural fit." After hearing about the shelter, Jeremy, a coach and teacher in Pflugerville ISD, became involved and is now a one of our most valuable volunteers. Not only does he tutor the kids every Tuesday and Thursday, come to all the meetings and helps at our children's parties, he and his wife also cooked the children's turkey on Thanksgiving!
What would you say is the most rewarding aspect of volunteering with the shelter?
The most rewarding aspect of helping Angelheart would have to be knowing at least one child will get clothes or food. Just those things every human being should have. Especially if they are otherwise unavailable to them.
Are there any specific instances from volunteering at the shelter that stand out?
No particular instances stand out while volunteering at the shelter. I just like helping out where I can.
